Greetings, I am Manassah.
I am an artist, yoga instructor, and Thai massage therapist. These are my passions and they are what bring me happiness in a world of distraction and confusion. There are amazing people all around us in different parts of the world with enormous gifts to give. Whether it is teaching someone to make coconut oil or how to drum, they are gifts that are priceless, for true. So my inspiration daily is “always believe in the beauty of your dreams”.

Art
Art for me started out as a passion to draw anything I saw in my house, my room, outside. Then later in life, while taking some classes on Shamanism, I found that I was able to express emotions into my art, release emotions into my art. This for me, as someone who didn’t like to uncover my emotions and talk about them, was like a gift. My artwerk has become a living chronicle of the spiritual path for me and the challenges I have faced. My happiness in selling my artwerk comes when I see someone relate to something I have drawn and sometimes even share their own experience with me about it. Knowing my werk has touched someone on a deep emotional level brings me happiness.
Yoga
After practicing yoga for a few years, I was challenged with wanting to be able to have a very solid at-home practice. I would venture to many different types of classes but I couldn’t seem to build an at-home class for myself. So, in 2005, challenged by finances to find an ashram to learn from that wasn’t all the way across the oceans, I found Yogi Hari’s Ashram in Miramar, Florida, where I learned to teach Sampoorna Hatha Yoga, the Yoga of Fullness. I was certified by Shri Yogi Hari through his 200-hour certification program and have been teaching ever since. I teach open classes so everyone is always welcome, and with my experience now in Thai massage, I help people recognize their challenges and offer them self-massage techniques along with yoga poses to help their practice and honour their body.
Thai Masssage
I have always had a passion for bodywork. First I wanted to be a physical therapist, then a massage therapist, but after receiving Thai massage myself for an aching low back, I was won over by the practice. After signing up for my first class in Evanston, I fell in love with the rhythmic dance and flow of energy of Thai massage. It mixes two things I absolutely love, bodywork and yoga, and is an ongoing passion of mine to use Thai massage as a preventive medicine for disease. As the Thai people say, stagnation in the body leads to disease, and Thai massage helps to open up the energy lines for movement of energy, increased circulation and flexibility and a balancing and grounding of energy. After completing the 220-hour program at Thai Bodywork in Evanston, I am a Certified Thai Bodyworker and have been practicing bodywork since 2009.
